

Richard Todd Kennedy, Sr., of Stuart, FL, passed away at age 85 on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at The Bridge at Orlando. Born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 29, 1936, and raised in Homestead, PA, he lived most of his life in Pittsburgh, PA. Todd graduated from Homestead High School in 1954. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to1960 as a Private 1st Class, E3. In his younger years, he played basketball and did gymnastics and loved playing the drums. He retired as Supervisor of LTV Steel, originally J&L Steel, with over 25 years of service. During his retirement he was the Manager at Palm Beach Polo & Country Club and then managed the PGA Marina. In his spare time, he vacationed at the Hawiiain Isle Motel in Miami Beach with his long time friends. He also enjoyed fishing, going to Blue Grass festivals, and cheered on his Pittsburgh Steelers. He thoroughly enjoyed his trip to Ireland with his two boys in 1999. Todd was a beloved, dedicated husband of 56 years, father, and grandfather. He was the patriarch of his family and leaves behind a tradition of hard work ethics, respect and a love for his wife and family. He was a man that was larger than life and commanded your attention, his way with words, won’t soon be forgotten. He loved hearing about his grandchildren’s sports and academic achievements throughout the years and was very proud of all their accomplishments. Todd developed a love for his wife’s cat, Bud, who kept him company after her passing in 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Gregor, his parents, Harold T. and Helen Probst Kennedy; sisters, Karen (Rotunno) and Marnee Kennedy and his brother, James Kennedy. He is survived by his loving sons, Richard T. Kennedy Jr., wife, Michelle and son, William of Orlando, Fl; Timothy Kennedy, wife, Lisa and daughter, Kylee Rose of Yardville, NJ; his brothers, David and wife, Connie Kennedy of Johnstown, PA, Bruce and wife, Carol Kennedy of Dunedin, Fl and sister-in-law, Marlene and husband, Dennis Saccomano of Monroeville, Pa, as well as several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army (give.salavationarmyusa.org). A celebration of life for close family will be announced in the near future.
