Bruce was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on August 4th, 1958 to Edward and Patricia Nachtsheim.
Bruce loved life and loved it with the love of his life Jessica (Kastanias) Nachtsheim and sons, Patrick and Stephen. Bruce and Jessica celebrated 31 wonderful years together in April. His sons were the prides of his life and are building successful careers in law and medical illustration.
Bruce grew up in the Milwaukee area and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Architecture. Bruce was a world class architect whose work spanned over 30 years. After launching his career in Georgia, Bruce worked the last 20 years for the architecture and engineering firm HNTB in Kansas City. As the Manager of Technical Services, he provided Quality Assurance reviews for the firm. His sports legacy includes Olympic, collegiate, professional, and minor league venues. His other projects included hospital and major aviation and transportation designs. However, no project was too small, and the family enjoyed the many home renovations he designed.
Bruce loved his annual vacations to St Augustine with family and friends, experiencing adventures in Greece, and the magic of Disney. He was the best husband, father, and friend one could hope to have… and man could he clean a car!
Bruce is survived by his wife, his sons, his sisters Beth (Robert) Bolick, Julie (Michael) Hanley, his brother Curtis Nachtsheim, and nieces, nephews, father-in-law Nick Kastanias, and sisters and brothers-in-law.
Bruce touched the lives of everyone he met, and he will be sorely missed by all.
Bruce loved animals and the house was always filled with barking and snuggling joy. In lieu of flowers he would appreciate donations to Unleashed Pet Rescue (913-831-7387) www.unleashedrescue.com.
A celebration of Bruce’s life will be scheduled for January, 2022.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mcgilleyhoge.com for the Nachtsheim family.
