Charlene Lorraine Cousins

Charlene Lorraine Cousins, 84, of Fairway, KS passed away November 17, 2012. A Memorial Visitation will be held November 24, 2012 3:00-4:00 PM at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS with a Memorial Service to follow at 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee Mission in Home Health, 7312 Antioch Road, Overland Park, KS, 66204, or Old Mission United Methodist Church, 5519 State Park Road, Fairway, KS 66205, in gratitude for their compassion and excellent service.

Charlene was born September 26, 1928 in McComb, Mississippi. She moved at an early age to Memphis where she completed high school and started work at South Western Bell. She also started training for employment as an airline hostess. Charlene moved to Kansas City to complete her hostess training while still working for South Western Bell. Soon after she met the love of her life, Jack Cousins. She and Jack had a full lifetime together which began as a sentimental journey and is still continuing.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Lorraine Prestridge and her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Jack Cousins. Survivors include her son; Randy (Ruth) Cousins, daughter; Gayle Lynn (John) Seward, and favorite grandson; Jack Edward Seward. Charlene was a devoted wife and loving mother.
