Deborah Kelley

Deborah F. Kelley, age 60 of Mission, KS, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday the 9th of March 2011. A visitation will be held at 6p.m. Sunday March 13th at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5601 Woodson, Mission, KS 66202. The funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Monday, March 14th, also at St. Pius. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Deb was born May 7th, 1950, the daughter of Leo Flaherty and Doreen O’Brien Flaherty. Deb was a dedicated teacher for over 30 years in both Kansas City Kansas and Shawnee Mission school districts. She truly loved her work and has impacted the lives of many children. Deb leaves behind: her husband of 31 years John C. Kelley; her two children: Kevin Kelley, Erin Kelley Cronin (Rick Cronin), and her most recent joy, grandson Leo Cronin. She was also looking forward to the birth of her second grandson due this July. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, devoted teacher, loyal friend and sister, and will be missed by many. Deb was a huge animal lover and took such great care of her “4 legged babies.” She was very involved in the lives of her children as she led both boy scouts and girl scouts, coached basketball and much more. She was looked at like a second mother to many of Kevin and Erin’s friends. Deb was preceded in death by her parents and brother Michael Flaherty.
