Donald K. Tillett

Donald Keith Tillett, age 72, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at KU Medical Center due to complications from pneumonia. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am on Saturday, March 19th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 8311 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, KS. Inurnment in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Visitation will be 6-8pm on Friday, March 18th at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Don was born on August 1, 1943 in Kansas City, MO to B. Donald Tillett and Nancy (Thomas) Tillett. He joined the Air Force in 1965. On July 15, 1967 Don married Dona (Ablott) Cecava in Deweese, NE. Don received a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Emporia State. He was an Eagle Scout in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Cross Sunshine Club. His hobbies included traveling, square dancing and polka dancing. Don was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Dona of the home; daughter, Deanna Tillett, Olathe, KS; grandson, Zachary Tillett, Olathe, KS; sister-in-law, Sandra Harms, Rapid City, SD and nieces, Brenda Winkelman and Elizabeth Bladow.
