Dru Nelson, 25, suddenly passed away on July 15, 2015. Dru was born on September 24th, 1989 in Denver, CO. Those who knew him will miss his infectious laugh, magnetic personality and ferocious way of living life. His skills and determination were inspirational to his friends and family. Dru was passionate about the environment, justice, personal freedom and telling his own truth. He loved his dog Buddy, gaming and making friends.
He is survived by his parents Ann and Doug, his brother Nick and sister-in-law Elizabeth, grandmothers Virginia McClaran and Barbara Nelson as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves behind many friends and loved ones who were touched by him and he will be greatly missed.
Memorial Services will be 5:30 p.m., Monday, July 20th at McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive Overland Park, KS 66204. Visitation 5:00 p.m. at the chapel. Contributions may be made to Natural Resources Defense Council or American Civil Liberties Union.
