

Elizabeth Kathryn Walter, 65, of Lenexa, KS passed away on March 3, 2017. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 6, at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Dr., Overland Park, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 13615 W. 92nd Street, Lenexa, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Lee Ann Britain Infant Development Center, Shawnee Mission Medical Center, 9100 W. 74th Street, Shawnee Mission, KS 66204; Holy Trinity Parish or The Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Liz was born on August 21, 1951 in Kansas City, MO, to Biff and Viola O’Hallahan. A graduate from St.Theresa’s Academy in 1969, she then married Gail Walter in the early 70’s. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother known most affectionately as Mema. She had a knack for Holiday decorating, crafting, floral arranging, and loved to entertain her family and friends. Last, but not least, her Sam Dog never left her side especially when she had treats. She was preceded in death by her husband; mother and father; and in-laws, Madelyn and Richard Walter. She is survived by daughters, Jennifer, Sarah, and Maureen; son-in-law, Josh Allen and her granddaughters, Lucy and Francie. Liz is also survived by sister-in-law, Pam (Jack) Hamer; brother-in-law, Paul (Kaye) Halverson and several nieces and nephews. Condolences may be left online at www.mcgilleyhoge.com.
