Florence E. Happer

Returned to live eternally with the Lord on July 27 surrounded by her family. She was born August 31, 1931 in KCMO and was a long term resident of Overland Park. She married Andrew N Happer August 22, 1954 and they were married for 36 years until his death in 1989. She was a loving and devoted mother of six and grandmother of 15. She was a registered nurse and retired from SMMC. In retirement she volunteered as a nurse and enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, and collecting antiques. She is survived by her children Terry H (Steve) Scheier, Maureen (Dick) Gallagher, Simon (Dina) Happer all of Overland Park, Mary (Tim) Leah Belton MO, Dan (Cindi) Happer of Mountain Lakes, NJ, Pat (Jana) Happer of Ozawkie, KS; fourteen grandchildren Tiffany, Erica, Emily, Vince, Erin, Lauren, Nate, Brian, Katie, Eileen, Andrew, Kelsey, Megan, Luke; one great grandchild Jonah; four brothers Mike, Steve, Barry, and Don Ernst and four sisters Andrea Ernst, Mary Treece, LuAnn Collyer, and Jane Howard and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, July 30th from 6 to 8 PM with a Rosary at 8 PM at McGilley & Hoge Funeral Home, 8024 Santa Fe Dr. Overland Park. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 8311 W. 93rd St. Overland Park, on Tuesday, July 31st at 10 AM. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army.
