

He grew up in Elkton and Wheatland, Missouri. He graduated from Wheatland High School in Wheatland, Missouri in 1948. He came to KC and was employed at Sunshine Biscuit Co. where he retired after 40 years. He also served his country in the Korean War. Fred was a 50 plus year member of Overland Park Christian Church. He married his wife, Lawana Blackwell in 1949 and had one daughter, Diana Luna.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, and a son-in-law, David Luna. He is survived by: his wife of 61 years, Lawana Degraffenreid; daughter, Diane Luna; grandson, Ryan Luna; granddaughter, Sara Luna; great-grandchildren, Jaliyah and Ryan, Jr.; one brother, Eugene Degraffenreid; and one sister Patty Brenner; as well as, many nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters –in – laws, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 7:00- 9:00 p.m. at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Dr, Overland Park, KS, 66204. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at McGilley & Hoge Chapel. Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, KS. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Overland Park Christian Church, 7600 W 75th St, Overland Park, KS 66204.
