Helen Mary (Kelly) Dehning, age 88, passed away December 25, 2014. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Monday, January 5th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5601 W. 62nd Street, Mission, KS 66202. Visitation will be 12:30 -1:30 pm on Monday at the church prior to the service. Graveside service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 6th in Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery, Omaha, NE. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
Helen was born in Nebraska City, NE. She was the third of six children born to Charles and Emma (Wurtele) Meredith. She was employed at Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha and later for the IRS in Kansas City, where she lived for over 50 years. Helen is preceded in death by her husband of over 43 years, Walter Dehning; parents, Charles and Emma Meredith; brothers, Ralph, Glen "Bud", Donald "Curley", and Allyn "Jack" Meredith; and sister, Doris (Meredith) Ford Campbell. Survivors include sister-in-law, Marjorie Meredith of Union, NE; brother-in-law, Glen Campbell of Council Bluffs, IA; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends, David Jones, Shirley and Lewis Hudson and Dick and Diane Ready all of Overland Park, KS; numerous other relatives and friends.
