James Lawrence Watson, 90, of Overland Park, KS passed away on October 6, 2020. Visitation and Rosary will be Friday, October 16, 2020 at 9:20 AM with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 AM at Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, KS 66212. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in his name to the Church.
James was born in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Lillis High School and Central Missouri State College. James was married to Mary Carlyn (Donovan) for 54 years. He was the father of one child, Christian James.
James was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in 1956. He was a long term employee of the Internal Revenue Service. A devoted Catholic, James was a member of Church of the Holy Cross for 48 years.
He truly loved all his family and friends and added laughter to every gathering. He also enjoyed nature, took pride in the trees he planted and was an avid dog lover - especially his boxer, Molly.
James was preceded in death by his son, Christian James; his wife, Mary Carlyn, his mother and father, Gladys and David; brothers, David, Richard, Walter, and sister, Ruth Ann McCulloh. He is survived by his brother, William Perry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
