Walking encyclopedia (a descriptor with which he would readily concur). Formula 1 car racing guru. Fly fisherman. Experienced political jouster. Master mechanic (when you needed him to be). Arthur Bryant’s loyalist. Passionate music fan – Led Zepplin to Beethoven to Miles Davis. These are but a few of the words that describe John Wilbert Mack, Jr. of Fairway, KS who passed away on July 26, 2013 with his loving family at his side. John was born on March 31, 1964 in Worcester, MA to his parents, John (Sr.) and Norma Mack. He grew up in Overland Park, KS attending Mohawk Grade School, Milburn Junior High - graduating from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1982. He attended K-State and was a huge Wildcat fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Brent. John leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Julie (Ferris) Mack; his daughter Megan Mack, sons John W. Mack, III and Kyle Mack; as well as his sister Alyson Langenkamp, his brother Mark Mack, nieces Julian Langenkamp and Samantha Williams, nephew Zachary Williams and his devoted black lab Emmett and many, many friends. Visitation will be held Monday, August 5, from 10 am to 11 am followed immediately by a memorial service at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5500 Woodson Road, Mission, KS 66202.
