i remember fondly as a child  visiting the op location watching the skateboarders use the half pipe to test out boards in the side of the store bumping ceiling  tiles against their heads id  be inside checkin out  all the boards and then one day this wonderful local store was gone, to be replaced by bike america i just found out that the owner died many years ago 😭 wherever the owner is in heaven he is in a never ending skate park where the tricks never fail and are always perfect. let it ride dude let it ride.....forever.🛹

Dear Vasos Family,
I went to school with Nick and Mike all my childhood years and on into high school. I remember it was difficult for the girls to decide which one of the brothers they should try to date.  Ha!  Both boys were darling and appear to still carry that gene pretty strong on in to adult life.  I remember Mike as the guy that always made us laugh, he always had a smile on his face. So fun to be around!  Even though it has been years since I have seen him I wanted to share with you my sympathy for your loss.  I remember the Vasos family as being such a tight knit one.  A very loving family and I hope that hearing how he touched others lives will somehow bring comfort to you all.  Mike was darling and apparently had passed his genes on to his beautiful daughter Marina. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all.  Mike will be missed dearly.

My deepest condolences to the Vasos Family. This is actually my second entry but I needed to say this now that I have the words. Mike, There has not been a day go by the memories of old times together and the advice you tried so hard to give me for my own good actually sank in. The years went by and I had Made promise to someday thank you for what you gave me friendship, generosity and values i needed to achive my dreams. I gave up on myself, and left you let down. For that I'm sorry. You are one of my hero's and a insperation by simply being you. So brother as you well know was never on time, In this case I just assumed I would Have a lifetime to tell you thank you for being a part of my life I will forever treasure our friendship. Michael was always able to express his sense of humor, the years I worked for him at Let it Ride were lighthearted and meaningful.  He had an enthusiasm for enjoying life and supported many with like enthusiasm in skateboarding, snowboarding, and wakeboarding.  Let it Ride created many lasting friendships and helped to propel the Kansas City skateboarding community.  I think fondly of time I was able to be a part of Michael's life.

   Although it has been 25 years since I last saw/talked to Mikey at S.M. East, my thoughts and memories of the good times I had as a freshman, solely because of Mike and Nick's kind acceptance, have remained fresh in my memory banks. These nostalgic flash-backs were often a weekly occurence, initiated by seeing Nick flying around in his traffic-copter, flashing his pearly whites. As a freshman, being allowed to tag along with Mike, Nick, and David and Tom Allen, all upper-classmen, provided me with countless experiences that I cherrish to this day. Although a quarter-century has passed since I last saw Mike, the news of his passing is no less shattering for me as his friend. The world will suffer from his absence in it. "If the people we love are stolen from us, the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them. Buildings burn, people die, but real love and friendship is forever". Mike would get a kick if I signed off with a rambling from his secret language... "Cink-Fonk, on the Rink Ronk, to the Tink-Tonk, ya Nung-Tung-Schmung". Goodbye Mikey...
