Minnie Ruth Ladd, age 87, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Visitation will be on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bethany Lutheran Church, 9101 Lamar Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas 66207. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM at the Church. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64138. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions would greatly be appreciated to her church, Bethany Lutheran.
Ruth was born June 30, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas to Louis and Dora (Pfaff) Johnson. She grew up on a family Dairy farm in Leawood and went to Southwest High School as well as Bethany Lutheran College. She was married to Charles Francis Ladd, with whom she had four sons, Mark, Charles Jr., Kevin and Keith. During her marriage she traveled to thirty countries and most of the U.S. She settled near her childhood home in Overland Park, Kansas and began a long career in furniture sales and interior design, which she loved, while raising two sons as a single mother. After her retirement, she cared for her mother and became a full time grandmother to her two grandchildren. Ruth then moved in with her son and daughter-in-law. She was deeply religious and when able was constantly involved with church groups and activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dora and Louis Johnson; her brothers, Louis Albert Johnson Jr. and John Wilhelm Johnson; and her three sons, Mark, Charles Jr., and Kevin.
Ruth is survived by her son, Keith (Bethany) Ladd and her two grandchildren, Victoria and Alexander Ladd.
