
Paul J. Bryant, 83, died March 24th at the home of his foster son, Dr. Tony Carter, San Antonio, TX. Paul was born May 11, 1929 in Kansas City, MO to his parents, Frank D. & Theresa S. Bryant.His education consisted of St. Theresa Grade School; Shawnee Mission North High School; Rockhurst College; and St. Louis University.He worked nine years at Midwest Research Institute and twenty-five years as Professor of Physics at UMKC.He married Martha A. Landers resulting in 53 years of loving friendship & companionship. Over the years five foster sons were nurtured, taught and guided to better lives.
His main loves were God, his wife and the Indianapolis 500, which he saw in person sixty-two years. His knowledge of automotive history was astounding and will be sorely missed by Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club members.No where could there be found a more intelligent, honest, and loving human being than Paul. For many years he counseled men at the Lansing prison. In later years he counseled juvenile offenders at the Juvenile Detention Center in Olathe, KS
He leaves his wife Martha of the home, three nieces, two nephews, two great nieces and five great nephews. His brother, Frank Bryant, preceded him in death.The Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS, Wednesday, April 3rd at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will take place at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, 83rd & Quivira Rd. Lenexa, KS. The family suggests contributions to Learning Club of KCK, 2203 Parrallel Ave, Kansas City, KS 66104.
