Shirley was born on March 23, 1938 in Fargo North Dakota. She moved to Mission, Kansas with her family early in life when her dad transferred there with AT&T. Shirley enjoyed helping her mom with daily household chores, including yard work, shoveling snow, and taking trips to the store. Shirley was an expert jigsaw puzzle solver throughout her entire life and absolutely loved horses. She had a mind like a steel trap, and could watch cars go by and tell you the make, model, and year of most of them.
Shirley was a wonderful person, always concerned about others and ready to offer her friendly and caring advice, in her own special way. Shirley lived with her mother in Mission until they both moved to Indian Creek Nursing Home in 1995. Shirley made many friends there over the years and found great happiness with the staff and residents in her home away from home. We (her family) will always be thankful for the staff at Indian Creek and the way they took care of Shirley.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Esther Corder; her brother, Don Corder (Judy) of Redwood Falls, MN; her sister, Linda Evans (Tom) of Mission, KS, and is survived by her brother, David Corder (Sheri) of Overland Park. Shirley also had 6 nephews and a niece, and many great nieces and nephews that loved her very much.
Shirley will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery with a private service.
