

Stephen Lee Bean, 22, of Kansas City, KS passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016 from a motorcycle accident. Memorial services will be at 1pm on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 12:00 -1:00 pm at the chapel prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the go fund me page for Stephen Bean’s memorial service of which all proceeds will be put into a savings account for his son, Lane Tyler Bean or you can contact Paul Mills for other arrangements if preferred at (913)269-6033 or [email protected]. Stephen was engaged to Chelsea Gilpin. He was born on February 17, 1994 at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, IA where he lived until 2005 when his parents, Robin and Paul relocated to the Kansas City area. Stephen graduated high School from Shawnee Mission Northwest in 2012. Stephen and Chelsea gave birth to their son, Lane Tyler on April 24, 2015. Stephen enjoyed playing many sports. His hobbies included his love for hunting and he was an adrenaline junkie. He was a very hands on person and enjoyed helping his grandfather on his farm in Iowa. He was looking forward to going to automotive school and had spent time working in several automotive shops in the KC area.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Robin (Bean) Mills (5/29/2016); grandfather, Dr. Merle Bean and grandmother, Pat (Gray) Bean. Survivors include his fiancé, Chelsea Gilpin; son, Lane Tyler; father, Paul Mills; grandparents, David & Rilla Mills of Linden, IA; uncles, Stephen Bean of Des, Moines, IA and Anthony Mills of Panora, IA and aunts, Nancy Doyle of Ames, IA and Teresa Ure of Panora, IA, as well as many other extended family members and many friends he considered family.
