We lost our beloved, Thomas Anthony Theis, early Saturday morning, October 22nd. A funeral mass for "Tommy" will be held 10:30am Friday, October 28th, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Prairie Village. A visitation from 9-10:30am at St. Ann's will precede the funeral mass.
Tom, 52, was born December 9, 1963 in Des Moines, Iowa - though Prairie Village and Overland Park, KS was always home. Tom attended St. Ann's Grade School, Bishop Miege High School and graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School. Following graduation, Tom attended Area Vocational and Technical School and became a certified automobile technician, later earning the distinction of master mechanic.
Tom was a hard worker and made himself perpetually on-call for friends or family with car trouble. His generosity extended to a wide circle of friends, family and strangers - always ready to help anyone in crisis or in need of a break, a laugh, a little comfort. These were his trademarks.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, John Theis, and brother-in-law, Thomas Martin Lacy. Tom is survived by his mother, Marian Theis; his sister, Cathy; his brothers, John (Lamease), Richard, Bob (Craig) and Tim; two beloved stepsons, Joel (Sheena) and Paul (Micah); three beautiful grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, a large family of close friends, as well as a family of co-workers who made it clear that Tom brought to work his heart, soul and his signature mischievous sense of humor that all of those who knew Tom knew well.
Tom, you will be missed and loved more than you will ever know...
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to organizations or individuals providing comfort and care for those in crisis. Online condolences may be left at www.mcgilleyhoge.com. Arr: McGilley & Hoge, 8024 Santa Fe Dr, Overland Park, KS 66204.
