Carol Elaine Benz

Carol Elaine Quenzer Benz left this world on 26 September, 2017 to join her beloved daughter, Barbie, and parents Edward (Ed) Charles and Helen Quenzer. She is survived by her adoring husband, Georg Richard Kurt, her best friend, soul-mate and partner in life. She also leaves behind a son, Mikel Allen, adored pets; BeeJay and Heidi, and close friend William Ira Whitbeck. Carol loved life and travelled most of Western Europe; Germany, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Czech Republic and Poland. She delighted visiting her husband Georg's Cousins, Margarete and Richard Wallinger and their sons, Ralph and Frank which meant home- cooked German food and delicious beer. During one visit, she discovered that her family, Quenzer, owned and operated a local beer distillery, Quenzer-Brau, in Bad Urach. During the summer of 1985 she and her husband hosted a French cultural exchange student, Philippe Castel, from Paris. This developed into a close friendship with Philippe and his parents, Chantal and Jean-Pierre. More good French food during visits; croissants and wine. Her favorite hobby was computers; breaking them and then fixing them. She spent many hours doing graphic design, digital art and greeting cards, She had a registered business; Cards by Carol. Her office at home, a converted bedroom, resembled a professional Graphic Arts studio. She loved "the beach." Earlier in life, she spent many days and weekends in Eastham on Cape Cod. Her parents and aunt and uncle both had houses there. Both had fair size boats; mom and dad with a 25-ft. cabin cruiser, Auntie and Uncle "Sonny", a small yacht. Her love of the beach is what eventually brought us to Central Florida . The world was a tiny bit better place with her laughter, helping people around her and positive attitude. She will be missed by many. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 5-6 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Oviedo Chapel with a service beginning at 6PM.
