The Lord called home one of his finest when David Gabrial Harrington, 61 of Chuluota, Florida, entered into rest on Friday, August 6, 2021, due to complications from Covid -19. He was a hardworking, generous, funny, extremely loving man, with a constant smile on his face, who leaves a legacy of kindness.
David was born December 18, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa to Gerald and Shirley (Agan) Harrington. He grew up one of five boys in Ankeny, Iowa, where he graduated from Ankeny High School in 1978. Following a stint in the Air Force, David moved to Orlando Florida in 1985, where he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Weymouth, in 1987. Together they ran their own bread distribution business, working side by side for 32 years.
David leaves behind his devoted wife and soulmate, Barbara, of 34 years, his daughter Helena of Durham, N.C, his son Matthew of Waynesboro, PA, brother, Bill, of Des Moines, Iowa, brother Steven of Lisbon Falls, Maine, brother Andrew of Ankeny, Iowa, brother Tim of Rogers, AR, and a host of other loving family members including numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, god-children, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. David was predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Shirley Harrington and his in-laws Robert and Helen Weymouth.
David will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him as a wonderful man with a heart of gold and joy for life, who impacted the lives of many, including complete strangers to who he loved to perform random acts of kindness. In lieu of flowers, his wife invites you to please perform a random act of kindness.
A celebration of life will be held sometime in the fall.
