Denny Ward

Francis Dennis Ward, (AKA Boxcar Willie Jr., Millionaire Denny), age 80, of Winter Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 2, 1944.

Beloved husband to Denise (Wall) who was his companion and soulmate found joy in each other for the last 41 years.

Father of Danielle Schmidt (Dave), Vikki Opton (Rick), Jeremy Ward, and Andre Ward (deceased); Grandfather of Allie, Lauren, Jon, Connor, and Kimberly; dear brother of Arlene, Patty, Greg, Mike and Larry.

His passion for tennis lead him to the love of his life, Denise.

Denny was a United States Air Force Vet who graduated from NYU and worked for IBM as a Field Engineer until he became disabled by MS. He excelled at public speaking and won numerous awards through his affiliation with Toastmasters International. He was also an active boating member in the US Power Squadron in Ft. Lauderdale. Bird watching and his pet bird TwoCane brought joy to his life.

The family will always be grateful to Joe Palentino for unfailing friendship, encouragement, laughter, and providing much needed physical workouts for Denny.
