Doris was born to the Morales family on September 8th, 1963 in Mayaguez, PR. She soon moved with her mother, sister Marta and brother Ricky, to Park Slope Brooklyn, NY where she was raised. After graduating from Sarah J. Hail High School in 1981, she enrolled at La Universidad del Sagrado Corazon in San Juan, PR. While studying for her degree in Psychology and working full time, she met the love of her life, Jaime Arroyo. In 1986 she graduated, married Jaime, and moved to Florida as Doris Arroyo.
Doris was a hard worker, a loving mother, a devoted wife, a caring sister, daughter and friend to many.
She worked and flourished in the financial world in Florida – working for many companies such as
Morgan Stanley, Smith Barney, Suntrust and Ameriprise Financial. Truly, she flourished in everything that she did because of her infectious energy.
She was blessed with two beautiful children, Leanna, 27 and Marcos, 25. Doris loved her children more than anything else. This was the title she wore most proudly.
Doris and Jaime were soulmates and best friends - from the moment they met, Jaime knew they were meant for each other. Through thick and thin, sickness and health, they were married for 35 years. She lived selflessly for her husband and children. Every action she took was to better their lives before her own. Her family is ever grateful for her devotion to them.
Anyone that knew Doris, would know that she could fill a room with her positive energy and laughter. Doris was a lover of all people, and was never afraid to speak her mind. She had a way to lift your spirits no matter how low they were. Doris lived a full life filled with fun, love, family, happiness, and faith. She filled her days on this earth with so many things: volunteering to teach Spanish at the elementary school, girls scout troop mom, coaching on the sidelines, dancing with anyone willing, kissing strangers and loved ones alike, and breaking into spontaneous song upon any statement that sounded fitting. Although she will be missed dearly, we know that she feared the Lord and trusted in Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, so we are comforted to know and trust that she is in eternal bliss with Our Father.
