January 27, 1958 – May 3, 2023
She was born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey on January 27, 1958. She was the loving wife of Patrick Ernest Sperduto, the caring mother of her two sons, Patrick and Johnathan, and the benevolent grandmother of her grandchildren, Michael and Tristan. Loving and caring was her passion and her pursuit, and she was a mother to many others beyond those named here. Her life was a selfless one, and a model to any who might aspire to be a parent, caregiver, or matriarch of any kind.
Her love extended beyond family, and even beyond her own kind, as she adored animals and all creatures of innocence as well. She always had pets and left behind her beloved "Shi Shi" and "Bear" who miss her dearly. Even the wildlife had a spot in her heart, a bird bath in her yard, and a feeder near her home. Her love truly knew no bounds, nor was it restrained by any limit.
Her passion was exemplified in not only her day-to-day life, but in her choice of work as well. Having worked in the general medical field; in senior care, in a veterinary clinic, as a crossing guard, and later in construction administration to be close to her husband and son, all of her occupational choices were made not to earn a dollar, but rather to provide, preserve, and protect. No matter whether she was mending a wound, escorting a child across the street, or embracing a stranger who just lost their beloved pet, Laurie’s work was always done with the purpose of caring, comforting, and loving.
She was preceded in passing by her mother Dolores, her brother Theodore, and her sister Wendy; She is survived by her husband Patrick, her siblings Douglas and Deborah, and her children Patrick and Johnathan. Until our timely reunion with her in heaven, we hold onto her memory and the abundance of love that will radiate for eternity, always remembering the simple words she spoke so often and so sincerely to so many – “I love you.”
