Leota “Lee” Blakeslee Trapp, 95 and long-time resident of College Park in Orlando, went home to be with her Lord in December of 2020. Lee was born in Lakewood, Ohio to Paul and Viola Blakeslee and moved to Orlando at age 12. A 1943 graduate of Orlando High School, she married Elmer Trapp in 1946. Lee was a dedicated mother of 4 children and highly involved volunteer at her children’s public schools and Florida Hospital. The Trapps were active members of First Presbyterian Church, Orlando.
From mid-life until 1992, Lee was employed at the Florida Hospital (AdventHealth) on Rollins Street. Although she never rode in an airplane until she was 48, Lee’s lifetime accumulations of airline miles and cruise ship days were amazing. She and Elmer loved traveling the world; their journals/photos were prized possessions. Lee enjoyed classical music and her favorite entertainment was attending live symphony concerts. After Elmer’s death in 2003, Lee later moved to John Knox Village in Orange City and subsequently to Lutheran Haven in Slavia.
Lee is survived by her children Susan Forster, Orlando; Alan (Diana) Trapp, Oviedo; Nancy Trapp, DeLand; and Barbara (John) Vazquez, New Smyrna Beach, as well as five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in the name of Leota Trapp to the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center ADRCCARES.com, or to the benevolence funds of the following: First Presbyterian Church, Orlando, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Oviedo.
