

Lola Kathleen Votta was born on January 14, 1941 to Charles Raymond Riley and Charlotte (Hall) Riley, in Providence Rhode Island. She was the youngest of 4 children. Her siblings Walter Tierney, Dorothy (Tierney) Rothemich, and Charles Riley preceded her in death.
Mrs Votta graduated from St Mary’s Bay View Academy. As a young woman she had a 16 foot runabout boat and could often be found on Patience and Prudence Islands. Hospitality was her first career. She worked as lead server at the Golden Lantern in Warwick, RI as well as The New Farm Supper Club, where she met her husband, Louis Votta. The couple had 2 children together, Charles Edward Votta (deceased) and Charlotte-Marie (Votta) Lugering. Mrs Votta was a very involved wife and mother and made her family the center of her life.
After moving to Florida in 1984, she went to work for Publix Supermarkets where she made lifelong friendships and retired in 2015. She was very involved with volunteer work at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, where she served as the Chairperson of the Bereavement Committee for several years. At the time of her passing she was a parishioner at St Stephen Catholic Church.
Mrs Votta leaves behind her daughter and son in law, Greg Lugering. She is survived by 6 grandchildren; Shannon Votta, CJ Votta, Shayla (VanderWoude) Bonnie, Trey VanderWoude, Whiston Lugering, and Riley Lugering. Additionally, she leaves 3 great grandchildren; Carter Mills, Barrett Bonnie, and Crew Bonnie; as well as her grandson in law, Andrew Bonnie, whom she adored. Mrs Votta loved all of her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and shared a special bond with each of them. She was always everyone’s “favorite Aunt”.
Mrs Votta entered into eternal rest on March 3, 2025. She was surrounded by her family who love her beyond measure and her faithful and loyal pup, Rosey.
