Paul was born November 17, 1934, the son of Paul Herbert and Buthel Mae (Wyatt) Beasley, in Dover, Tennessee. He attended Granite City High School in Illinois. He joined the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. On November 22nd, 1969, he married Sandra Lee (Paxton) Beasley in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a civil servant for the Department of Defense for 30 years, retiring in 1996. Paul’s service to his country took him across the United States and around the world.
Paul was an avid golfer and often said “if I’d been able to find a sponsor, I could have gone pro”. He had a deep appreciation for all sports, once saying that while he’d never ice-skated, if he did, he’d be as good as Peggy Fleming. He loved playing cards, especially Poker, Uno, Phase 10 and Spoons, as well as dice games. If there was a way to compete, Paul would find and enjoy it.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley Mae (Beasley) Smith.
Paul is survived by his wife Sandy; sons David and Carole (Tyner) Beasley, Phil Beasley, Dennis and Karen (Doty) Beasley, Scott Beasley, Greg Beasley; daughter Staci Beasley; brother Mark and Karen (Hinton) Beasley; grandchildren David, Michael, Justine, Laci, Lance, Laurin, Dennis II, Kyle, Rachel, Anna, Lexi, Christina, Cayla, and Jordan; and 18 great-grandchildren.
