Pennie Olliff, age 92 of Oviedo, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018. She was born July 24, 1925 in Godfrey, Georgia. She moved to Oviedo in 1926 with her parents and four sisters. Pennie graduated from Oviedo High School and in 1946 she went to work for Citizens Bank of Oviedo where she worked until she retired in 1994 as Senior Vice President. She was the first woman bank officer in Seminole County. In 1994 she was elected to serve on the bank’s Board of Directors and in 2008 was given the honor of director emeritus. Pennie was an active, long life member of First United Methodist Oviedo and also the Oviedo Woman’s club. In March of this year, Pennie was honored by the Oviedo Historical Society where she was given a proclamation, signed by the Mayor, declaring March 20th as Pennie Olliff Day. Pennie is preceded in death by her beloved Leon to whom she was married to for 70 years. She is survived by her son Larry (Bonita), daughter, Linda (Mark), 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday May 24, 2018 at The First United Methodist Church Oviedo, 263 King Street Oviedo, Florida 32765.
