

Thomas M. North, age 77 of Chuluota, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022. He was born April 4, 1944 in Pontiac, Michigan to Eugene and Marjorie North (deceased). Tom graduated from Clarkston High School; served in The Air Force and proudly achieved the rank of Master Sargent; and studied Engineering at Oakland Community and Lawrence Institute of Technology.
He was a very talented businessman and owned The PopMan with his brother, Ben for many years. He also worked for General Motors, LaFarge Corporation as a Plant Manager because of his knowledge of robotics, and ran a successful Internet Sales and Marketing business in Florida with his family. He was inventive and owns a patent.
His hobbies included flying airplanes, sailing around Florida in a catamaran, working on old vehicles (his pride and joy was a 47 MGTC which he restored himself), gourmet food, and travel to foreign lands.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra North; daughters Michelle McConnaughhay (Cliff) and Renee Wilkes (Matt); and beloved grandson Nicklas McConnaughhay. He is survived by his sisters; Joyce Shimmin and Sue Schmidt and brothers Ben North, Jan North, Joel North. Brothers Jerry North and Michael North preceded him in death.
There are no plans for a Memorial at this time because of safety concerns. Something will be planned later. Donations in his name to the American Heart Association can be made if anyone so wishes.
He will be greatly missed.
