William “Willie” Dwane Lapham of Oviedo, Florida left us peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2025 at the age of 73. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on July 7, 1951. He grew up in the North Country where skiing and horse back riding were his favorite hobbies.
Willie graduated from Peru High School in 1969. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and served from 1969 – 1976 as an E4 Sergeant. He later worked in the Program Executive Office for Simulation and Business Operations for the Department Of The Army, and retired in 2017 after 40 years of service.
Willie was a very loving husband, father, brother and friend, and was actively involved in being an amazing Gampy ‘Grandpa’. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his Father Edward Lapham, Mother Shirley Spiegel Lapham and Brother Joe Lapham.
He is survived by his Wife Victoria, Daughter Kristen, Son Jamie, Daughter Jessica, Granddaughters Aryanna and Lauren, Sister and Brother-in-Law Gale and Jim Carroll, their Daughter Kelley and her Husband Brian Carlsen and their Children Jack and Kate, and a very special Uncle Robert “Bub” Lapham. Willie had an incredible ability of bringing people together, and an amazing sense of humor. He was a very honest and passionate individual in work, family and world events. He loved being outdoors, working in the yard and had a green thumb, he could grow anything.
A celebration of Willie's life will take place on February 22, 2025 from 11:00am – 2:00pm at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 501 E. Mitchell Hammock Rd, Oviedo FL 32765. Family and friends are invited to gather and share stories and memories of Willie’s life.
In honor of Willie, the family asks that donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O Box 3000 Boone, North Carolina 28607 in lieu of flowers, as this was something Willie deeply cared about.
Though we are heartbroken by Willie's passing, we take comfort in knowing that he will continue to live on in our hearts, and that the love he shared with each of us will never be forgotten.
