Pacific Grove ~ Charles E. “Chuck” Potter, born October 24, 1946 in Baltimore, MD, passed away at his home on December 21. A 58-year resident of the Monterey Peninsula, Chuck was a graduate of Monterey High School and received his BA Degree in Engineering from the University of the Pacific. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era. In a career spanning over 40 years, Chuck worked for Neill Engineers and the Don Chapin Co. Following his retirement, he continued to work as a civil engineering consultant.
Chuck spent seven years as a softball coach for his daughters’ teams. A real dog-lover, he enjoyed walking his dogs all over Pacific Grove, especially his current dog, Dakota. He was also a member of the Monterey VFW.
Chuck is survived by his wife of thirty years, Geri and his daughters, Michelle (Denise) Potter of South Lake Tahoe and Jessica Potter of Salinas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward Potter, Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth Potter.
Funeral services with military honors will take place this Wednesday, December 28 at 2:00 PM at the Santa Rosalia Chapel of San Carlos Cemetery in Monterey followed by inurnment at the cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the donor’s favorite charity. Arrangements under the direction of The Paul Mortuary, Pacific Grove, CA.
