Born in Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, she was the first in her family to go to college and graduated from the University of Santo Tomas. Then, she earned a medical degree going on to touch the lives of countless patients in the U.S. and the Philippines as an internist and rheumatologist for 37 years.
She loved her family dearly and enjoyed traveling and exploring new places with her husband, two children, and her support animal, Pogi. As the eldest of six siblings, she served as a matriarch for her entire family and was the big sister everyone relied on for help and advice. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, doting mother, compassionate physician, a talented chef, a gifted pianist, an avid gardener, a prolific world traveler, and as a philanthropist including her annual medical missions in the Philippines.
She is survived by her husband Sam, son Vince, daughter Justine, son-in-law Haseeb, sisters Norma, Grace, and Gertrude, brothers Lawrence and Norbert, many nephews and nieces, and shih tzu terrier, Pogi Talaga Fonte.
She has passed on in this life but her legacy and memory will forever last in our hearts.
