Jonathan was born in May 1936 in The Hague, Netherlands, and was the youngest of three children. After graduating in 1958 from the Dutch University of Rotterdam (Hoge Technische School) with a Bachelor degree in Electronics, he immigrated by himself to the U.S. and settled in California.
Jonathan met his wife Adriana (July 1, 2020 †) while on a short business trip to the Netherlands in 1963 while shopping for some gifts in Delft. After their marriage in Escondido on March 20, 1964, they settled in Del Mar, California, but soon moved to Saratoga and finally to Pacific Grove.
Jonathan was a passionate engineer. He enjoyed using his programming skills to organize, manage and maintain his multiple real estate holdings.
Jonathan was a force of nature, who was determined to provide for his family and give them the kind of life that he wanted for them. He encouraged his children to pursue higher education and to grow spiritually in their Christian faith. He called Twin Lakes Church in Aptos his home church.
Married for 56 years, anyone who knew Jonathan knew that he was the most loving husband and father that a family could ask for. Jonathan was predeceased by his wife, Adriana. He is survived by his four sons and their wives: John William & Barbara (Voorburg, Netherlands), Ken and Teresa (Lincoln, NE), Robert & Aude (Maastricht, Netherlands), David & Julie (Arroyo Grande, CA) as well as eleven grandchildren.
Jonathan will be laid to rest at El Carmelo Cemetery in Pacific Grove, CA. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jonathan will be held at a future time and place, yet to be determined.
