Lois Marie Barker, born December 15, 1932 in Buffalo, Minnesota, passed away on July 15 at Community Hospital in Monterey, California. She worked as an escrow officer for over thirty years. Lois met her late husband, Kenny, on a blind date in October 1953. They were married in Los Angeles in May 1954.

Lois enjoyed membership in Toastmasters. Her passion for animals began when she was a young girl and she supported many animal protection societies. Lois was an active member of the Christian Church of Pacific Grove serving as an elder, worship leader and singing in the choir. She was honored to have received an Elder Emeritas Award from the church.

Lois is survived by her sisters, Aileen Albrecht of Monroe, Washington and Murielle Warnke of Rosemount, Minnesota. Also surviving are her nephews and nieces, Butch (Tina) Albrecht of Pacific Grove, Lynette Cook of Altoona, Iowa, Wayne Warnke or River Falls, Wisconsin, Laurie Groff of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Marilyn MacDonald of Snohomish, Washington and Julie Seledic of Cohasset, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Kenneth, in 2006 and her special cat, Geronimo.

Visitation will take place at the Christian Church, 442 Central Ave. in Pacific Grove on Tuesday, July 26 at 10:00 AM followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM also at the church and burial will be El Carmelo Cemetery in Pacific Grove. Memorial contributions are suggested to the donor’s favorite charity.
