Marcia Campbell Wolf passed peacefully on June 9, 2021 after a short battle with aggressive lung cancer.
Marcia, an only child, was born on May 23, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to loving parents Helen Guertin Campbell (d. 1995) and Marshall Campbell (d. 1974). She attended Kellogg Elementary School and Morgan Park High School. She and her family moved to Lake Forest, Illinois in 1954 where she graduated from Lake Forest High School in 1956.
In 1960, Marcia graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson with a degree in Education. While at the University of Arizona, Marcia was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority and worked with children who had cerebral palsy. She married Peter Wolf in 1959 (div. 1962) and together they had one son, Stephen Campbell Wolf (b. 1960); they moved to Carmel in 1961.
Marcia moved to Pebble Beach in 1974 while she taught at Lighthouse School in Pacific Grove until it closed in 1980. She then continued on to teach at Forest Grove School until she retired in 1995. She loved to spend time with her family, was a voracious reader, enjoyed volunteering at Community Hospital, and adored walking dogs at the Animal Friends Rescue Project. She also loved the Prayer Shawl ministry and her friends at St. Mary’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Pacific Grove.
She is survived by her loving son Stephen C. Wolf (Anne K. Wolf), her beloved granddaughter Lauren Chatterton Wolf, her closest cousin Joyce Egan Holcomb and many additional 1st and 2nd cousins. Marcia was an avid dog lover; her last dogs, Callie, Tilly and Dottie were by her side until the end.
