It is with profound sadness that Claudio Fabrizi announces the passing of his beloved wife, Marina Francesca Narducci, his closest companion for more than 50 years. Claudio and Marina were best friends, companions, lovers, fellow world travelers and partners in all things for over half of a century.
Marina was born in Rome, Italy May 27, 1954 to her parents, Reno Narducci and Mara Cergoli. She was the youngest of two girls. She died in Pebble Beach, CA on September 14, 2025 at the age of 71 after a long battle with cancer.
Claudio and Marina met in Rome as teenagers and were married in the Basilica San Camillo de Lellis in 1974 in their early twenties. Marina had just graduated from college with a teaching degree. They lived in Rome from 1974-1992.
She was an exceptional, talented, creative person with excellent business sense and wonderful people skills. She went from teaching to an advertising modeling career. Later, she started a successful clothing manufacturing company producing nightgowns and swimsuits for major fashion designers. She also found time to volunteer large amounts of her time as a nurse for the Italian Red Cross in the Italian Army Hospitals, bringing her upbeat attitude and positive outlook to the hospitalized soldiers.
In 1992, Claudio and Marina began what was supposed to be a yearlong trip around the world. When they arrived at the Monterey Peninsula, Marina fell irretrievably in love with the Monterey Bay area while watching one of our gorgeous sunsets on the beach with Claudio while sharing a bottle of wine.
At Marina’s insistence, they abandoned their travel plans, settled in the Monterey area, and bought a home in Carmel where they lived for five years. They moved to Pebble Beach in 1997 where they have remained since.
Marina also fell in love with the United States and made it a primary goal to become a US citizen. Claudio and Marina both began learning English and went to nursing school to become licensed as Registered Nurses in California. They also applied for US citizenship. After many years of work and waiting, they became US citizens in 2008. Becoming an American citizen was by far one of Marina’s proudest achievements. The other achievement that Marina was extremely proud of was the successful and solid marriage that she and Claudio shared, built on love, joy and mutual respect! Claudio credits Marina for contributing those building blocks to the relationship, although they built it together day by day.
Using her natural and learned nursing skills, Marina started another successful business. This time it was an anti-aging and hormone and supplement therapy consulting business. After providing this service in the Monterey Bay area for many years, Marina expanded the business to Europe. Over time, she grew the business to include Asia and the Middle East.
Marina was filled with enthusiasm and zest for life. She made the best of her time on earth and made life better for those she touched. She cared very much about her family and friends, and gave her love and time generously to them.
Claudio says that he learned a lot from Marina, and that she was the joy of his life. He plans to do his best to continue on the path that she designed for them with a large hole in his heart and life.
Marina is survived by her loving husband, Claudio; her sister, Lilia Narducci; her niece, Sabrina Graziano who has two sons, Lorenzo and Francesco Sgandorra, and her dear puppy, Joy. She was predeceased by her parents.
Marina's funeral mass will be held on October 23rd at 10:30am at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church at 362 Lighthouse Avenue in Pacific Grove. A celebration of life and light lunch will follow in the church library.
