Marjorie Vaughan Preston

Pacific Grove ~ Marjorie V. Preston, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away at Canterbury Woods, her home of 26 years. She was a graduate of Los Angeles High School and attended UCLA where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Marjorie was the secretary at the First United Methodist Church in Pacific Grove for ten years.

In addition to her membership in the First United Methodist Church of Pacific Grove, Marjorie was a member of Cursillo, the Community Hospital Auxiliary and a former board member of the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Gil (Barbara) Preston of Northridge and her daughter, Carol (Mark) Smith of Clovis; her grandchildren, David (Molly) Preston, Jill (David) Barbee, Amanda (Kevin) Berryhill and Sarah Smith and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Gill, her husband of 69 years, in 2011.

Memorial services will take place at Canterbury Woods on Monday, January 14 at 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, 915 Sunset, Pacific Grove, CA, 93950 or to the donor’s favorite charity.
