Milton Eugene Schroeder

Pacific Grove ~ Milton E. Schroeder, 85, passed away at Forest Hill Manor in Pacific Grove on May 15, 2011. Born in Mott, ND, he came to California in 1938 with his family. Milton served as a cryptographer in the U.S Navy in both WWII and Korea. He retired from P. G. & E. as manager of the Sonora District after almost 40 years of service. After moving to Forest Hill Manor in 1999, he was very active in the activities there.

Milton is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alice; his children, Thomas (Katheryn) Schroeder of Arbuckle, CA, Kathryn Smith of Merced and Susan (William) Zimlich of Elk Grove; his only remaining sibling, Lester (Linda) Schroeder; his grandchildren, Judy (Denny) George of Sacramento, Andy (Jeannette) Schroeder of West Sacramento and Joe Zimlich of San Jose; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, William Schroeder.

Memorial Services will be held this Saturday, May 21 at 1:30 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge at Forest Hill Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forest Hill Manor Methodist Church, 551 Gibson Ave., Pacific Grove, 93950.
