Nancy Joan Gilbert

May 28, 1934 ~ October 6, 2012

Marina ~ Nancy J. Gilbert passed away October 6, 2012 at Westland House. Despite years of serious medical issues, Nancy loved her life and the people in it.

Born May 28, 1934 in Brockton, Massachusetts to Robert and Mary Gilbert, Nancy was a charmer from the start. She was an outstanding student at Notre Dame Academy in Boston and went on to raise three children.

Nancy made dear friends through her career in art restoration in San Francisco and Carmel. She treasured her cousins and close friends. Her second career was being an adoring Nana to eight grandchildren.

Nancy deeply appreciated the excellent care she received from her doctors, especially Dr. Paul Tocchet of Carmel.

Nancy’s wit, profound wisdom and deep love for her family will sustain her children, John (Kim) Ranger, Robin (Mark) Hagen and Susan (Chris) Whitney.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Carmel Mission tomorrow, Thursday, October 11 at 10:00 AM followed by inurnment at Monterey City Cemetery.
