

Robert M. Corson, a native of Seattle, passed away on July 12, 2015 well into his 100th year of life. He was a resident of Carmel Valley Manor since 1990. Bob spent his early years in Carmel by-the-Sea, attending first grade at Sunset Grammar School. Later, in the Oakland area, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and moved on to attain his Bachelor's Degree from UC Berkeley in 1937 and his Law Degree, also from Cal Berkeley in the Class of 1940. While practicing law in Oakland, Bob was an active member of the Kiwanis and Scottish Rite, also contributing as a loyal member of the UC Berkeley Alumni Association.
After more than fifty distinguished years as an attorney in Oakland, Bob moved to Carmel Valley Manor with his wife, Nansi, who he was married to for 56 years before her passing in 1996. His second wife, Alice McBride, married Bob in 1997 and passed away in 2005 while a resident of Carmel Valley Manor.
Bob was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth, in 1971. He is also survived by his step-children, John (Shawn) McBride of New Orleans and Gay (George) Arthur of Chattanooga; his step-grandchildren, Brendan (Miriam), Connie and Rex; four step-great-grandchildren and niece and nephews, Megan, Todd and Scott.
