Devoted and beloved mother, grandmother, friend and nurse.
Susan Dale MacDonald, 69, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at her daughter’s Monterey, CA home with her family by her side.
Susan was fun-loving and full of life. She was hard-working, determined, strong and independent. She had a passion for helping others and always did so with enthusiasm and joy. She worked in the health care profession her entire career and fulfilled her dream of becoming an RN in 2002. She was a dedicated Nurse, specializing in Med-Surg Telemetry at Lighthouse Point Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida until May 2013. She was known by her colleagues for her positive attitude, tireless energy and her exceptional patient care and advocacy. In 2013, after 42 years of living in Florida, she moved to Laguna Beach, CA to be closer to her family. She continued her passion for nursing at Mission Hospital, Laguna Beach until 2014.
Susan loved to cook and even more, delighted in eating. She had a deep interest in astrology and had a zest for shopping, decorating, and traveling. She was an avid gardener, a master at crossword puzzles and a lover of cats. Family was her number one and she would fly cross-country regularly over the years to be with them. She was an eternal optimist and really knew how to enjoy life to its fullest.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Michele MacDonald Jayson, Richard Dawson MacDonald Jr. and daughter-in-law Ariane MacDonald. Her grandchildren Derek Jayson and Dawson & Hudson MacDonald will greatly miss her. Also left to remember her is her brother Roy Hintz, and many, many friends.
