Yvonne Ann Scardina, lovingly known for her warm heart and unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Pebble Beach, California. She was born Yvonne Ann Mulnix in San Francisco in 1943.
Yvonne was the devoted wife of Thomas Scardina, whom she married on July 10, 1965. Together they shared a beautiful life and had just celebrated 60 years of marriage-a testament to their enduring love and commitment.
Family was the center of Yvonne’s world. She deeply loved her children and absolutely adored her grandchildren. She made it a point to stay connected, faithfully calling and texting to let them know she was thinking of them. Her love extended to her beloved cats, who brought her great joy. Yvonne loved her life fully and, because of her strong faith, faced passing without fear, trusting in what was to come.
Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life and something she cherished sharing with others. She never met a stranger and was always ready to help those around her. For the last 20 years, Yvonne dedicated herself to volunteering at the local hospital in various roles. She began by delivering newspapers and magazines to brighten patients’ days, later delivering the Eucharist, and eventually, as she aged, faithfully checking in on those who lived alone through the telecare service, offering comfort and companionship with her calls.
It is impossible to fully capture what Yvonne meant to all who knew her, but one thing is certain-everyone was better for having known her.
Yvonne is survived by her loving husband, Tom; her children, Terri Scardina, Barbara Scardina, and Cyndy Nachtman (Chad); her grandchildren, Bryan Holcombe, Brandee Holcombe, Angela Hernandez, Max Hernandez, Nicholas Nachtman, and Matthew Nachtman; and her great-grandchildren, Wesley and Bryan Holcombe, Abigail, Remington, and Hope Honig.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mary Mulnix, and her siblings, Maureen, Joan, Carole, and Bud.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 9th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church at 362 Lighthouse Ave in Pacific Grove.
Yvonne’s kindness, faith, and generous spirit will live on in the many lives she touched.
