Ceil N. Levy, age 91, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, surrounded by her 3 loving sons. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert S. Levy, a loving mother to Jay, Sander (Felicia) and Mitchell (Sharon) and the adoring grandmother of Alyx, Simon, Morgan, Max, and Brett.
Ceil was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Samuel and Bertha Nagelberg. “Ceily” Nagelberg met “Bobby” Levy when she was 15 years old at a high school football game. They married in 1956 and moved to Palm Beach County, Florida in 1958.
Ceil’s family was the center of her world and always came first. She was the heartbeat of the Levy household — a constant source of love, support, strength, warmth, and selflessness. Ceil always placed the needs of her "4 boys" (Bobby + 3 sons) ahead of her own. Everything she did flowed from her deep devotion to her beloved husband, children, daughters-in-law and grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. Those rare and fleeting moments when all of them came together were Ceil's happiest days.
Ceil was unwavering in her support of Robert and was his closest confidante. She was truly the "wind beneath his wings". Together, they were founders of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County and shared a deep commitment to Jewish life and community. Ceil and Robert graciously opened their home to inspire and nurture future generations of leadership. Among many honors, Ceil and Robert were designated as Members of the Pillars Society of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County in recognition of their enduring philanthropy. Establishing the annual Robert S. & Ceil N. Levy Young Leadership Award was a particularly important initiative of theirs.
Beyond her devotion to family and community, Ceil was a dear and trusted friend to many who loved her deeply. She lived by the saying, “a friend in need is a friend indeed,” and embodied it every day of her life. People from all walks of life spoke of how much they loved her — a testament to her extraordinary kindness, loyalty, and compassion.
Ceil will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, quiet strength, and unconditional love. Her legacy lives on through her family and the love, values, and strength she passed on to all who knew her.
Ceil is survived by her 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; her parents, Samuel and Bertha Nagelberg; her sister, Evelyn Davidman and her brother, Seymour Nagelberg.
Donations in Ceil’s memory may be made to the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County.
