Zwerling Frederick, 81 years old, died just how he had hoped, quick and easy in Florida on January 18, 2013 (of a ruptured abdominal aneurysm). He was caring, thoughtful and loving to his wife Elinor since their teenage years in Brooklyn, and to his children, Hayward and Gail Zwerling, Jessica Z. Diamond and M. Cory Zwerling and Andrea Elliott Zwerling; to his grandchildren: Calder, Sierra, Jesse, and Zoe, and to his sister Irene Z. Schenck. His advice, critical judgment and forthright opinions will be sorely missed.
