Upon receiving his PhD in Physics from the University of Connecticut, he moved from teaching physics quickly to Academic Administration. He was both the Senior Assistant Director of Research and Sponsored programs at Northwestern University (NU) in Evanston, IL, and the director of Reseach and Sponsored Progrms at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, FL.
Jerry trulywas a jack of all trades, he could fix anything... but had a real passion for sailing and Classic cars, he loved to cruise, travel, and spend time with his friends. He spent many years competing with his 1954 MGTF at local car shows. Gerald was a proud man, dignified, kind, and intelligent. He was very accomplished and was a good father to Stacey and Mark.
Gerald is survived by his son, Dr. Mark Goldberger, his daughter-in-law Kim Goldberger, his daughter Stacey Nolan, and his grandson Noah Goldberger, whom he would boast about all the time.
Gerald was preceded in death by his spouse Lois Goldberger whom he loved very much for 50 years.
May he rest in peace and enjoy being by Lois' side for eternity.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Gerald will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 12:00 PM at IJ Morris at Star of David of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33412.
