Roslyn Barre, 85, of South Palm Beach, Florida, died at Boca Raton Regional Hospital on September 20, 2020 of complications arising from cancer treatments. Her life was greatly enriched by her husband Gerald Barre, who predeceased her, and her devoted family and many friends, who all knew her as Ronnie.
She is survived by her son Steven Barre and daughter-in-law Catherine Barre of Jupiter, Florida, and her daughter Ellen Spiegel and son-in-law William Spiegel of Henderson, Nevada. Ronnie is also survived by her brother Martin Fink of Medford, New York. She was a devoted mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, who was generous with her love and received much love in return.
Born in the Bronx to Terry and Harry Fink, she raised her beloved children as a homemaker in Jericho, New York and later enjoyed forging a career as a legal secretary.
She was devoted to and adored by her granddaughters Andrea Brody-Barre, Talia Brody-Barre and Julia Brody-Barre, and loved by grandsons Andrew Haas and Joseph Haas.
She was a long-time resident and board member of Mayfair House, in South Palm Beach, where she will be missed by the staff and many dear friends. In years past, she also had a home at Harbour House in Westhampton Beach, New York, and continued close ties with many friends from there as well.
She had a variety of interests and passions, including bridge and mah-jongg. She loved theater, fashion and entertaining, as well as politics – and enjoyed working tirelessly on Ellen’s campaigns.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in her memory to the Anti-Defamation League at www.adl.org.
