

On June 12th, 2022 Alejandro Daniel Velasquez while surrounded by loved ones, passed into the arms of God at the age of 33. Alex was born in Houston, Texas August 15th, 1988 to his parents Alejandro and Oralia Velasquez.
Alex was an avid reader and adventure seeker. He enjoyed reading a good fantasy or detective novel. For fun, he would spend hours riding his bike throughout the parks and streets of Pasadena, Texas, his hometown. The one activity Alex loved the most was skydiving, achieving his class D license, along with 70 solo jumps to his name. He had a passion for professional sports and spent much of his time watching the Astros and Texans games at home with his dad or attending live games with his sister. Alex, more recently had become impassioned with health and fitness, and also enjoyed learning to cook and taking walks in his neighborhood with his mother.
Anyone who knew Alex would say he had an unyielding love for his family, whom he gave great adoration and reverence. His kind and loving heart was apparent in all his interactions with family and friends and especially with his niece and nephew whom he treasured. Alex’s sweet and gentle disposition will truly be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Alex is survived by his parents Alejandro and Oralia Velasquez, his sister Melissa Guitron, brother and sister-in-law, Estevan and Karissa Velasquez and niece and nephew, Mia Medrano and Marcus Velasquez.
A visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home and Memorial Park on June 30th, 2022 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a memorial service at 10:00am on July 1st followed by a private burial ceremony for family and close friends at Grand View Memorial Park/ Bethany Cemetery.
The Velasquez family would like to thank those who have reached out in support and would especially like to thank the staff at HCA Southeast for their care of Alex during his last days in the hospital as well as Deacon Hector Cantu, of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Deacon Heath Hampton, of St. Pius V Catholic Church, for their services during this time.
