Allie Ray Wheeler, born October 4, 1925, died peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2015, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Wheeler was born in Pike City, Oklahoma. He met the love of his life while driving a taxi in Borger, Texas and moved to Pasadena to work at the Phillips 66 plant.
He is succeeded by his wife, Susie Mae, his children, Tommy Ray, Robert Monroe, Jimmy Franklin, Clifford Wayne, and Lethal Sue, 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
A veteran of the Coast Guard, Wheeler retired from Phillips 66 after 35 years of dedicated service. He remained a faithful member of the Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene congregation. He will be remembered by his family as a traveler, the hardest of workers, the ultimate example of a loving husband and steadfast father, and a constant friend.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. at Grand View Funeral Home 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, Texas 77505.
The funeral service will be on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 10:00 am at Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
