Amy was born on October 17, 1943 in Baytown (McNair), Texas to Thomas and Thelma Goudeau. In 1963 she graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Baytown. She was married on April 17, 1964 to Nolan Jones for 50 years and together they have one daughter, Brandy Jones.
Amy had several part-time jobs over the years. The job she loved the most and was not compensated for was taking care of her nieces and nephews. Every summer Amy had a house full of children. She enjoyed teaching them different crafts such as cooking, sewing, and crocheting. She would take her nieces and nephews for fun activities to places like Sylvan Beach and the local wave pool.
Amy had many talents. She enjoyed sewing and was a seamstress to many. People would often bring her patterns and with her gifted hands she would produce beautiful garments. Amy loved jewelry making and you never saw Amy without jewelry on that she either made or purchased over the years.
Amy was a faithful Jehovah Witness. She loved to serve Jehovah and attended every meeting, assembly, and convention even when she was ill.
Amy loved to go places and it was rare if she sat at home on the weekends. She would venture out to various places with her daughter, Brandy, friends, and family. You mostly found Amy bargain shopping, enjoying the waves at the beach, and attending local festivals in the Houston area.
Amy had a deep love for her family and friends. Her love, gifts, talents, and service will be missed by all. Amy leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Nolan Jones and her daughter, Brandy Jones of La Porte; Sisters JoAnn McKnight (Baytown), Gerenda and husband Earl Guidry (Baytown) Vanessa Goudeau (Houston), and Veronica and husband Willie Anderson (Houston); nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Thelma Goudeau, her brother, Gregory Goudeau, and her sisters, Catherine Sylvia Williams and Glenda Lang.
A memorial service for Amy will be held on Saturday, June 7th at one o’clock in the afternoon at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 1102 Cedar Bayou Road, Baytown, Texas.
JOHN 5: 28,29
Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.
