

Aubrey Olen Hawthorn was born on October 7, 1936, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Kirt Olen Hawthorn and Ratha Vaughn Hawthorn. He lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a love for family and the outdoors.
Aubrey enjoyed camping and traveling, especially taking trips in his recreational travel trailer, which brought him both relaxation and adventure. He attended the University of Houston before beginning a long and distinguished career with the United States Customs Service. For most of his 38 years of service, he worked as a Customs Inspector at the Port of Houston seaport and Houston International Airport. His career reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to public service, from which he retired after nearly four decades.
Aubrey is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jean Hawthorn; his son, Scott Olen Hawthorn; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Brett, and Kayla. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Rowan and Remi Hart, as well as two step-grandchildren, Hailey and Nicole. He is further survived by his niece, Stacy, and his nephew, Gary.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fayla Davis Hawthorn; his sister, Mary Hawthorn Baker; his daughter, Terrie Hawthorn Taylor; and his step-sons, Charles Tenberg and Paul Tenberg.
Aubrey will be remembered for his steady presence, devotion to family, and a life well lived.
