August 16, 1941 – November 30, 2024
Barbara Joylene Craft, 83, of LaPorte, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, with her loved ones by her side. Born in Altus, Oklahoma, on August 16, 1941, she was the daughter of Edgar Eugene Kerbow and Lena Mae Denny.
Barbara was married to Jack Hearne for 19 years. She built a career in transportation as a dedicated bookkeeper, contributing her talents to Nelson Services Bark Mulch, T.E.S. (Technical Environmental Services), and Hatch Heavy Equipment. Additionally, Barbara worked in an administrative role for Constable Bill Bailey, where her organizational skills and dedication was shone. She was also a proud member of Sagemont Church, where her faith was a guiding light.
Barbara found joy in crafting, traveling, playing cards and poker. Above all, she will be remembered as a remarkable, loving, amazing, Christian woman who brought light and warmth to all who knew her. When Barbara loved you, you knew it because she told you every time she saw you. When she was proud of you, you knew it because she told you all of the time. She was a cheerleader of all of her family and friends and was happy to sit on the sidelines cheering you on in whatever you were involved in. She loved you to “check in” and tell her all about what you’d been up to and where you’d been. She loved it especially when you made time to stop in for a visit. Many people talk about themselves, not Barbara, she wanted to hear about YOU!!! All the while with a smile on her face, tears glistening in her eyes that you were there. If you were lucky, you were rewarded with a special gift that she had made just for YOU! (Raise your hand if you have a hand made gift from Barbara!!!)
In the past few years her Love and Faith in the Lord had been REIGNITED! You couldn’t talk to her without her mentioning the Lord and her love for Him and how much He had blessed her life. Reading her Bible which was never far away, she shared scripture with family and friends and talked of His love, all of the time. What a blessing to know she is in Heaven in the arms of Jesus.
